Training!

Why should you choose me out of all other PMU professionals?

I have 15 years of experience, I love what I do, I love to teach and I am not shy of calling myself a true professional. Throughout these 15 years, not only have I gained so much, but my passion for my work has gotten only stronger. Also, considering my background in dermatology, the safety and well-being of my client is my priority. Just like any doctor is required to renew and improve their knowledge, I make sure to constantly grow and evolve. I renew and level up my qualification at least twice a year to be in the know and on top of everything that is happening in this industry. Additionally, when a client comes to me with a request, I evaluate their request not only aesthetically, but I look at how well they are suited for the procedure in their individual case, from a healthcare provider perspective. At the end of the day, as a professional, my goal is to make sure that the client is making the right choices that are right for them in all aspects of aesthetics and health. Lastly, I only use the best materials and tools in the industry because I believe that the instruments that you use reflect the quality of your work and your professionalism. Therefore, confidently invest in the materials, machine, and needles.

Do I have a license? And how hard is it to obtain it?

Yes, I have 2 licenses. The first one as an Esthetician Cosmetologist and the second one is as a state-licensed Tattoo Artist. For you to be able to work as a permanent makeup artist, obtaining the tattoo artist license is a must. It is not hard when you know all the basics and all the necessary knowledge. But, don’t worry! That is exactly what you will learn on the course, and much more. After obtaining the license, you will have to renew your license every year (frequency of renewal may differ by state).

Why am I teaching? Aren’t I creating my own competition?

There is demand and there is supply. Moreover, the current economic trends suggest that the demand for permanent makeup will continue to grow. So far, since 2012 the job outlook for a permanent makeup artist has experienced an increase of 19.5%. This means that there is more demand than supply. The world needs us! Furthermore, my students are from all over the globe! Some pursue to open their own independent businesses, some find a job and some join my team. At the end of the day, competition is the initiator of progress and is also a good motivator!

Why should you take the course?

If you would like a new or an additional stream of income of minimum of $55,093 and up to $120,000 (avg annual pay for a Permanent Makeup Artist in the US) in 5 days, then this course is for you. If you want a guaranteed, cost effective, and quick investment where you can earn your return on investment (ROI) within only 7-12 of your first procedures, this training is for you. This training is also for you if you want to acquire a new profession, a completely new skill with a certificate without spending another 1-3 years of your life getting a degree, in as little as 5 days, this course is also for you. For me, learning Permanent Makeup was one of the best decisions in my life, and I honestly hope that it will be for you too.

It’s no secret that all of us want to earn a good living and have financial freedom. During these unstable times, it is especially scary not to have a stable job and stream of income due not only the pandemic but due to the ever evolving robotization and artificial intelligence. In fact, a November 2017 report by the McKinsey Global Institute that analyzed around 800 occupations in 46 countries, estimated that between 400 million and 800 million jobs could be lost due to robotic automation by 2030. Unbelievable, but this is the reality we live in now. However, let me tell you something, throughout all my years of work in this field, I can confidently say that right now is the perfect time to acquire a new skill and learn Permanent Makeup in particular. Why? Because, one thing that cannot be taken away from human beings and simply cannot be replaced by any AI or robots, is creativity and arts. Artistry is a gift that only humans have and it cannot be imitated, calculated, taught, or predicted. It is irreplaceable. Therefore, if you are worried for your future and for the future generations, you can be sure that investing and taking the creative career path, will guarantee a job that will forever and always be in demand. Additionally, all the current beauty trends that are moving towards natural looks, forecast an even higher demand and popularity of Permanent Makeup in the near future. Since 2012, the job outlook of a Permanent Makeup Artist has seen an increase of 19.5% and growing. This is because Permanent Makeup takes the perfect middle spot in the beauty industry, especially between general makeup and plastic surgery. Permanent makeup highlights and defines a person’s natural features, and provides the effect of makeup, without having to actually apply it daily. Plus, needless to say, it saves a lot of time! Luckily for Permanent Makeup Artists, each procedure cost ranges between $250-$1000, which means that the hourly rate is much higher compared to the average traditional hourly rate. This alone makes the job more rewarding, motivating and enjoyable. This also suggests that to earn back your investment (ROI) on training and supplies based on the average can take between 7-12 procedures! A very effective, guaranteed and smart investment.

What will you learn? What is included in the course?

You will learn how to perform the 3 most seeked after permanent makeup procedures; powder brows, watercolor lips, and lash line tattoo. Most other places only teach you how to perform on one given area for the same price if not more. But, here you will learn how to do all three techniques in one place, in one go. The main reason for that is - convenience! For you and for your client. Most of the time, when a client comes to you for powder brows, there is a high likelihood that he/she is interested in doing other areas as well like lips and lash line. So, instead of them doing all these procedures at different places, why not do them all in one place, with you? The more techniques you master and specialize in, especially the most asked for procedures, you will always be chosen over someone who specializes in only one area. During the training, I will teach you all the necessary things you must know and also share with you all the knowledge that I have gained though my 15 years of experience. Specifically, you will learn all the vital information about the tools/instruments, materials, needles, the machine, pigments, coloristics, types of sketches, different skin types and how to work with each one. You will be practicing on paper, latex, and on the 6th day of the course you will be performing your first procedure on a real person. The model is provided by us, but if you have someone you know that is willing to be your model, you’re more than welcome to bring him/her! Overall, the training is very individual, so we will make sure to focus on all the areas where you feel uncomfortable, so that by the end of the training, you will have absolutely no doubts in your readiness.

In what language is the course? And/or are there any options for other languages?

The training can be done in 3 languages! In Russian, English, and Spanish. If you are a Russian speaker, I will teach you myself. If you speak English or Spanish, I hire a translator (that I cover myself) to translate. Granted, I am still learning English, but I don’t want to make a language a barrier for me and for my potential students, but a door!

Why don’t I teach in a bigger group?

At the moment, the maximum number of people I teach at once is 2. Taking in small groups is vital to ensure that we work on the student’s particular weaknesses and strengths. This also ensures that we maximize the effective usage of time and money. Finding an individual approach to each student is not only important for me, it is more so vital for the student her/himself, because when personalizing the training, by the time of completion, the student will feel more confident in his/her knowledge and skills, which as we know is a foundation of success.

Who is this job suited for? What qualities should one possess to succeed in this industry? (at the end of the day, this job is not everyone)

For anyone who is willing to earn a good and stable income (or even an additional GOOD stream of income!) and for anyone who is a creative person by nature. As for what characteristics you should have, I would say that you have to be a hard worker, diplomatic, intuitive, and patient when working with clients. Thankfully, all these characteristics can be developed!

Is this training and job suitable for someone who has never worked in the beauty industry and has no experience at all?

Learning Permanent Makeup is suitable for you, even if you don’t have prior experience in this field or industry. If you do, however, have experience or specialize in something else in the beauty industry, in both cases, completing this course will open a completely new door for you. It can become your new profession, a new stream of income, a higher qualification, or even a new hobby. But, if you’re still worried, the fact that you have shown interest in learning Permanent Makeup is the first sign that YOU will succeed in this field. As long as you have the will, it’s all it takes.

What is the key(s) to success in this industry?

The main keys to success in this field of work are honesty (with yourself and with your client), investing in your tools (the quality of your tools and materials influences and reflects the quality of your work), continuous professional growth (higher qualification, learning new techniques) and love for what you do!

Questions you might be asking yourself right now....

How will I find my first clients if I just started and don’t have experience? How to gain people's trust?

Your first work on a real person is done on the 6th day of your course under my supervision. So, the first before & after picture that you will have is your model! Obviously, after the completion of the course, you don’t have a lot of experience and you may be a little scared, but you have to understand that is absolutely normal! We all start from 0! Practice is the one and only way to gain experience. Don’t put pressure on yourself. When you’re confident, your client will trust you. If you are not, it’s the opposite. The key to success in your case when you first start out is honesty. Honesty with yourself and with your client. Tell your potential clients that you are a newbie and that you have just completed a professional course from someone who has been doing permanent makeup for all of her life. There is nothing wrong with that! Also, if I really see that you have a big potential I will give a personal recommendation. Another advice I would give when you start out is to start from low prices and go up from there. This will lend you opportunities to gain experience and build your client list.

Would it make more sense to find a job at a salon first or should I just start working independently?

I always recommend working at a salon first because you will personally feel more safe and confident, you will have colleagues, and an added benefit is that most salons are insured. So, I’d say that in your first year, it is best to work at a salon. Furthermore, finding a job at a licensed PMU/tattoo service provider when you first start out will make getting your license process even easier, because that way you have a work address you can present on the application papers.

What equipment you will I need to purchase to get started? How much will it cost?

During your training you will receive the permanent makeup machine with the battery and foot pedal as a gift, which will allow you to start right away. The retail price of this machine is $300. This way, the only thing left for you to acquire are your refillables such as cartridges (needles), pigments, and antiseptics.

What about the machine/equipment brands? Which one to choose?

I work with different machines from different brands. And, as I have mentioned previously, I prefer to invest in the highest quality machines and tools. I will tell you more about my recommendations and preferences in more detail during the training. However, similar information is also available on my Instagram page (@miami_pmu) and my YouTube Channel (DASHA SHVEZZ Permanent MakeUp).

What should I bring with me?

Notebook, pen, and will to learn! This is enough to start. All the other tools and instruments will be provided to you during your training.

Additional Notes:

If after the course you would like to spend more time working with me, if you need extra help, and/or you want to learn more advanced permanent makeup techniques, 3D areolas (nipples) tattoo, I also offer 1-2-1 mentoring for $300 per/hour where we will figure out and thoroughly

work out all your areas of concern.
At the end of each course, I will give you a document that I

use and you will use too, to give each client to sign before performing a procedure. This document will let your client know about all the possible side effects and will ensure to protect yourself legally. It is a safety measure that is highly important to implement in your practice. You can find it online, but I am giving you the one that I use myself, where I removed the unnecessary points, and added my own experience that I learned in these 15 years. Experience is something you cannot buy, so I want to help and guide you to not make the inevitable mistakes I have made in my practice.
At the end of the course, I will give you my personal contact info, where you can contact me if you have any questions. I am always within reach if you need my help.
Lastly, to clarify, the course length is 6 days days total (3-4 hours per day), 5 days of theory and practice, and the last 6th day is your first real-life application on a real person.
